There is a right amount of AI to use, and it’s going to vary based on the industry, the employee, the company and the tool being used.
The idea of no-code programming is wonderful, as is the idea of AI writing entire books, websites. But the quality (and security in the case of programming) of your end result will be compromised.
AI code assistant, in the hands of an experienced software engineer is like an e-bike that helps the user pedal. The user is very much in control of where they go, but they are able to get there a lot faster and with less effort. Likewise, an experienced writer or editor could utilize AI for a template or structure, and manually write over it to make necessary changes.
If a doctor would be responsible for overseeing an AI nurse’s care of his patients then I expect an engineer utilizing AI for code to be responsible for overseeing the code they are introducing into the codebase.
